Yard Coordinator Jobs

Job Purpose

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for the general maintenance, tracking and organization of equipment within the yard. You’ll oversee the shipping and receiving of new, used and rental equipment then regularly maintain the inventory systems ensuring its accuracy and rectifying any discrepancies. The Yard Coordinator will work with customers, freight companies and NMC Transport to load and unload equipment. You’ll operate many different types of equipment such as skid loaders, excavators, dozers, forklifts, boom lifts and scissor lifts which you will receive training and certification as required. You may often operate the wash bay as well. If you enjoy supporting operations to run smoothly and efficiently, this position may be right for you!

Essential & Primary Job Duties

• Coordinates and tracks all shipping and receiving of equipment within yard. Loads and unloads machines. Prepares needed paperwork and performs inspections on all incoming and outgoing equipment. Documents any issues found during pre & post-inspections and communicates problems to appropriate personnel.
• Performs general yard upkeep and maintenance, including snow removal and weeding.
• Scan equipment and work with the Used Equipment Manager to post pictures to our website.
• Ensures cleanliness of all equipment and cab areas prior to transport or rental in an efficient and timely manner.
• Provides rental customers with start/stop and general operating instructions.
• Organizes and inventories yard ensuring working environment is safe for both customers and employees. Assists rental coordinators or sales in locating “lost” equipment in yard.
• Assist the Used Equipment Manager in maintaining the machine inventory on the website. This person is responsible for making sure all photos taken of machines in inventory are uploaded on the web site and that we only have current photos of equipment on line.
