X-Ray Technologist Jobs

Rothman Orthopaedics is looking for a Per Diem X-Ray Tech to join our Egg Harbor Township team! The Radiologic Technologist operates radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images according to various physician protocols and performs epidural procedures. In addition to the routine tasks, a Radiologic Technologist assumes responsibilities of designated area(s) and assists other departments when available. Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Location: 2500 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township NJ, 08234

• Will be required to cover our Cape May Court House office: 106 Court House South Dennis Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210

Hours: will work on an as-needed basis; Mon - Fri: 8am - 5pm

Qualifications:

• Must have valid ARRT certificate and NJ Xray Tech licensure
• Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Knowledge of x-ray procedures and epidural procedures required. Ability to operate all equipment & machinery including processors and computer systems.

Essential Duties:

• Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answers his/her questions as best as possible.
• Obtains the patient's history to insure proper scheduling.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
• Reports equipment problems to department supervisor.
• Along with the pain management team, assists during fluoroscopic procedures (i.e.: epidural steroid injections, hip aspirations).
• Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.
• Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces/develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers.
• Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards adapted and implemented by x-ray quality assurance policies.
• Asks female patients of childbearing age the date of their last menstrual period and ensures that there is no possibility of pregnancy.
• Critiques radiographs (density/detail/contrast/positioning/markers/anatomy visible), makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary.
• Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his/her film badge).
• Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest.
• Participates in training of new employees.
