The Materials Characterization Discipline is seeking an experienced professional to work within and grow our team. The xCT Engineer will work within inter-disciplinary teams, including new Materials Development, Failure Analysis, Design/Structures, Quality, and Manufacturing, to define xCT scanning and analysis approaches to directly impact new materials technology development programs, determine root cause for Engine Safety Investigations, and provide critical engineering data for Manufacturing/Quality issue resolution. This role will be responsible for advancing measurement technologies by developing novel approaches to scan parts and analyze large 3D data sets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment where multiple concurrent projects is typical
  • Train engineers and technicians on advanced characterization techniques
  • Utilize in-house and external xCT capabilities to deliver needed customer data, such as cooling hole morphology, crack propagation/growth, and other quantifiable metrics impacting part performance
  • Create and implement strategies, procedures, and workflows to promote efficiency and data quality, including in the areas of automation and batch processing
  • Collaborate directly with Engineering customers to define work scope and data requirements for morphological features within various jet engine hardware
  • Develop strategic roadmap for external partnerships in scanning and image process to meet growing demand for xCT within the Engineering, Operations, and Quality functions
  • Identify, investigate, and develop external partnerships with national laboratories, government partners, and universities, to utilize latest technology for higher resolution scanning and sophisticated image processing
  • Travel up to 10%

Basic Qualifications:
