Description:

The Denver Waldorf School is looking for a classroom assistant to support our woodworking teacher and program. This position is part- time and scheduled to begin August 1st for the 2023-24 school year. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong love of working with children, Waldorf experience, knowledge specific to the course, and the ability to work well in a collegial setting.

The classroom assistant will work closely grades studens, supporting the teachers in the following areas: classroom management, small group instruction, classwork completion, and some clerical or grading work. The ideal candidate will use this experience as a stepping stone towards becoming a lead teacher. Participation in faculty meetings and other professional development opportunities is optional in order to develop pedagogical training.

Requirements:

Additional skills and abilities include:

  • Ability to be a warm and loving authority
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with children, in a teaching environment, preferred
  • Ability to work with multiple teachers

The hours for this position include availability between 7:45 – 3:45, the woodworking schedule is being determined.
