Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a skilled Secure System Administrator to design, implement, secure, and maintain systems and associated applications, services, and components. This is an on-site, non-remote position for our North Logan, UT location.

Key Responsibilities


  • Monitors assigned systems to ensure high availability, optimum performance, and security
  • Follows established IT policies and procedures to perform audits and ensure compliance
  • Understand and utilize Change Management when adding, modifying, or removing anything that could have an effect on IT services
  • Achieves in-depth knowledge of company processes, systems, and networks
  • Work with your leaders to prioritize projects, requests, changes, and tasks
  • Responsible for documentation of assigned systems and solutions
  • Assists in installation and configuration of information systems and components
  • Ensures data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
  • Proactively monitors assigned systems to ensure high availability, optimum performance, and security
  • Assists in the design and implementation of information systems
  • Assists with the day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades
  • Document issues in Jira, communicate progress (though updates, workflow status, due date etc.) as the issue is being worked


Minimum Qualifications


  • Strong organizational skills, quick learner, and demonstrated problem solver
  • Active TS/SCI with favorably adjudicated CI Poly
  • Work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability and desire to continue learning new skills as system needs grow and change
  • Able to apply knowledge to complex, practical situations
  • Server and desktop configuration and maintenance experience
  • Willing to perform maintenance and support on systems outside of core hours (on-call) as required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a wide range of internal and external customers
  • Five years of experience in administration of Windows environments and built in roles (i.e. Active Directory, Print, Files, IIS, Group Policy).
  • Active CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or be able to obtain within a maximum of 30 days after hire)
  • Ability to manage installation and maintenance of monthly security patches
  • Willing to travel if required


Preferred Qualifications


  • Ten or more years of experience in administration of Windows environments and built in roles (i.e. Active Directory, Print, Files, IIS, Group Policy).
  • Experience with containerized platforms (i.e., Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Knowledge of DoD Security Requirements within classified spaces
  • Understanding of information systems security best practices and use of security tools such as Nessus, SCAP, and applying STIGs
  • Experience with one or more of the following would be helpful: Virtualization (VMware), backups (Rubrik), storage (Pure), administration of Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket, MSSQL, SharePoint, Exchange, audio/video systems, and monitoring
  • Experience with automation (patching, scripting, etc)
  • BS degree or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related computer field
