Description

Wellness & Recovery Specialist
Location: WA, ID or OR, must have a WA peer certification
Schedule: 8a - 5p | Monday - Friday

The Wellness & Recovery Specialist is an active member of the corporate Peer Support and Recovery program and provides peer support services to clients with substance use disorders through telephonic operations. The Peer Specialist will function as a role model to members; demonstrating expertise in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serves as a consumer advocate, provides consumer information and peer support for members. The peer specialist performs a range of tasks to engage, motivate and inspire members to participate in their recovery, regain independence within the community and promote optimal wellness.

Primary duties may include but are not limited to :

  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate member treatment plans are followed on less complex cases and for proactively identifying ways to improve the health of our members and meet quality goals.
  • Acts as a resource for staff on decision making and problem solving.
  • Identifies opportunities that impact quality goals and recommends process improvements.
  • Assesses member compliance with medical treatment plans via telephone.
  • Coach members on ways to reduce health risks.
  • Coordinates identification of and referral to local, state or federally funded programs.
  • Initiates and maintains contact with assigned individuals and providers to determine members response to services.
  • Prepares reports to document case and compliance updates.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with agencies identified in appropriate contract.
  • Identifies barriers to plan compliance and coordinates resolutions.
  • Recommends treatment plan modifications and determines need for additional services, in conjunction with case management and provider.
  • Coordinates follow-up care plan needs for members by scheduling appointments or enrolling members in programs.
  • Identifies opportunities for engagement of members and their families in forming a supportive, recovery network.

Requirements :

  • Associate in Arts/Associate in Science and minimum of 2 years of experience in health services or behavioral health field or in a peer support services role; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Peer Specialist Certification

Preferred :

  • Substance use disorder during pregnancy experience.
  • Knowledge of care-coordination and case management concepts
  • Family planning experience.
  • Bachelor in Arts/Bachelor in Science
  • Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and/or Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS) experience.

*** For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $22.21 to $33.30
