Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position handles the operational aspects of the City of Pittsburgh's wellness programs. The Wellness Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of effective wellness initiatives to optimize the engagement of City of Pittsburgh employees, spouses and/or dependents. They will collaborate closely with internal and external business partners to administer health promotion initiatives/programs to the audiences through effective project management, collaboration, best practices and engagement.


Department: Human Resources and Civil Service

Salary: $49,836.00 per year


  • WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show one (1) year of full-time experience in a health or worksite health promotion setting including program planning, development, and implementation.


  • EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a Bachelor's Degree in Health, Exercise Science /Physiology, Nutrition, Nursing, Business, Communication, Marketing, Public Health Management or a related field. (Lifestyle and Weight Management Coach, Health and Wellness Coach, Personal Trainer, Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist certificates preferred).


POSITION DUTIES

  • Educates, consults and provides training to stakeholders on resources, content, processes, timelines and program components.
  • Facilitates all operational aspects of wellness programming such as reward program design/set up.
  • Responsible for content creation, identification of customer needs, development and effective utilization of wellness campaigns and resources designed to maximize member engagement and prevent adverse risk migration.
  • Secures and schedules meeting space for wellness lunch and learns and activities.
  • Provides standardized communication materials and implementation support for wellness initiatives.
  • Works with vendors and other HR associates to administer benefit programs.
  • Leads special projects, workgroups and initiatives as needed to enhance wellness offerings and streamline business processes.
  • Works collaboratively within a team to demonstrate and share best practices and client successes.
  • Creates and manages reports for all programs.
  • Collaborates with all City departments to create and execute wellness strategies that increase the engagement or enrollment in programs and initiatives.
  • Assists in drafting employee communications with respect to new benefits or wellbeing programming.
  • Utilizes data, trends and best practices to recommend specific client focused solutions or interventions to achieve outcomes.
  • Proactively reaches out for and utilizes services across the enterprise to deliver and ensure a positive, differentiated customer experience.
  • Performs such other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
  • Monitors participation, success and failure.
