How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

This position will be part of a team of welders, machinists, and AMTs working to repair and or restore airframe and engine parts to their original serviceable condition per Delta, OEM, and FAA specifications. Candidate must be willing to work alternate shifts, off-days, weekends, and holidays as required. Particular functions, tasks, and duties may vary depending upon the area assigned and operational requirements. Must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $35.73 with a potential maximum hourly rate of $36.32. The ability to reach the maximum hourly rate is dependent upon several other offered premiums (Examples would include but not limited to - Airframe and Powerplant license
,Shift differential, Station location differential, Line Maintenance differential, Skill differential).

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to practice safe work habits as evidenced through behavior and attitude.
  • Should be able to read and write at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, with little or no assistance.
  • Hold a valid Delta Aircraft Welding Certificate or have a minimum of 2 years, documented welding experience {employment, Technical School, Military, etc.) and be able to successfully complete the Delta Aircraft Welding Certification program.
  • Must be able to pass Welder Vision requirements per TOPP 10-00-50.
  • Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
  • (If Internal) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position. Department 386 has a 24-month residency requirement.

  • Successfully complete an initial entry evaluation administered by Welding Training Center personnel demonstrating theoretical and working knowledge of job skills required of an Aircraft Welder in Department 386.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • This shop is a 24 X 7 operation. Candidate must be willing and able to work alternate shifts, off-days, weekends, and holidays as required to support operational requirements.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
  • High school diploma, GED or High School Equivalency

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • TIG weld experience with stainless and nickel alloys preferred.
