Job Description

The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400+ businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative fields.

A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based dry dock facility is seeking a Welder.

Essential Functions

MIG WELDING – STEEL AND ALUMINUM

  • Perform modification and maintenance of all scenery as directed
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Complete projects on schedule with a high level of quality
  • Layout construction efficiently with a high degree of accuracy prior to welding
  • Fabricate structural metal scenery from both design and technical drawings
  • Read, interpret and build from plans, sketches, and shop designs
  • Measuring, bending and cutting of metal components for construction
  • Operation of equipment, such as, but not limited to, MIG welder, drill press, horizontal band saw, portable band saw, abrasive band saw, angle grinder, roller bender, tap and die, etc.
