Job Description
Overview:
ITS ConGlobal is the industry-leading provider of intermodal rail terminal services, auto loading and unloading and container depot services. We take pride in consistently delivering superior and reliable service, a broad scope of services and an exemplary safety record. We’re currently seeking a Welder/ Fabricator to join our team.

The Welder/ Fabricator is responsible for the repairing of containers of maritime, as well as domestic and intermodal equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Repairs aluminum/stainless steel parts by welding
  • Operate appropriate powered industrial equipment as required
  • Receives instructions from Supervisor, or designee, regarding necessary work
  • Troubleshoots and repairs 12 –16 DC Volt electrical, and air/ABS brake systems
  • Assists with general repair duties and depot maintenance as required
  • Documents completed repairs not indicated on original repair estimate and assists in completing applicable supplemental repair estimates
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together
  • Completes major container, chassis and reefer modifications
  • Completes all types of structural modifications/conversions on equipment
  • Acts as a spotter and fire watcher as needed
  • Bolts, clamps, tack-welds, or otherwise fastens parts to secure in position for welding and/or repairing
  • Selects appropriate materials to repair/weld equipment
  • Applies decals/stenciling on equipment as necessary
  • Repairs equipment by dismantling, straightening (cold or with heat), replacing reshaping, reassembling and painting or recoating parts
  • Responsible for clean up and/or other depot maintenance as necessary
  • Completes FHWA inspections and documents
  • Handle, repairs, and replaces tire and wheel components
  • Completes quality control and/or inbound inspections and produces repair estimates as necessary
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using appropriate welding equipment
Qualifications:
  • Ability to train other employees as necessary
  • Basic welding experience is a must
  • Ability to work alone and/or with minimal supervision
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Must possess valid State's DL
  • Conform with and abide by all work regulations, policies, procedures, instructions.
  • Ability to work well and get along with others
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to read and understand computer generated work orders
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
