Job Description

The Fabrication employee builds healthy communities through play and recreation by ensuring parts are safely processed through the operation to produce a high-quality finished product.


This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Requires moderate supervision for machine operation, product quality, and efficiency
  • Read and interpret prints
  • Maintain legible, accurate records/documentation associated with your work
  • Measure and cut materials to meet the specifications of the project
  • Perform production duties to produce parts according to order specifications.
  • Keep work areas in clean orderly manner
  • Inspection, diagnosing problems and carry out appropriate checking/testing
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols
  • Can operate 50% or less of machines in Fabrication department
  • Use templates and other work aids to hold and align parts to ensure quality and consistency of parts produced
  • Keep tools/machines clean and functional
  • Set an example for team members of commitment, application of skill, work ethics & habits and personal character
  • Perform routine PMs on machines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires the ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Experience in coating is desired
  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired.
  • Requires the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to speak effectively with employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Pass tape measure test


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the manufacturing environment such as steel toe shoes, bump cap, air supplied hood, and eye protection. The employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate to loud, and hearing protection is required in specific areas of the facility.
