As the World’s leader, Miller Industries provides a complete line of quality equipment including carriers up to 30 feet in length with deck capabilities of up to 40,000 lb and towing recovery units with boom capacities of 100 tons.

All Weld Trainees will enter a comprehensive 12-week training program that consists of classroom, weld simulator, and on-the-job exercises.

Duties include:

  • Cleaning or degreasing parts.
  • Scarf or groove welding prior to applying filler metal.
  • Positioning parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
  • Repairing broken or cracked metal objects, fill holes, and build up metal parts.
  • Examining welds for bead size and other specifications.
  • Laying out, positioning, and tacking weld workpieces.
  • Welding metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by blueprints.
  • Chipping or grinding off excess weld, slag, or spatter.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to attend classes M - F (5:45 am - 2:15 pm)
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a technical or trade school welding program.
  • AWS Certification, or
  • Experience in a high school welding program, or
