Job Description

The Web Development Internship is needed for the re-branding and design of Her House Media website. The Web Developer is available to undergraduate students pursuing a degree in marketing, communications or a related field from an accredited college or university. You must have basic image editing skills in Photoshop and experience with web content management systems to be considered. As an intern, you will assist with website maintenance. Preference is given to juniors and seniors or advanced Web Developers.


Responsibilities


  1. Design and develop full-featured website and graphical designs
  2. Support user discovery for upcoming system modernization projects driven by a Human Center Design methodology
  3. Organize and analyze user research to inform feature prioritization
  4. Maintain front-end portal for a suite of applications; implement any necessary additions or enhancements to improve the user experience continuously
  5. Write code to implement visual elements into various web applications
  6. Create prototypes, mockups, and staging sites for review and feedback
  7. Optimize applications to ensure efficient programming and fast loading speeds
  8. Identify and troubleshoot any issues or bugs
  9. Collaborate with members of the development team for continuous delivery
  10. Maintain updated knowledge of the development industry and any advancements in technology
  11. Meet deadlines as required



Qualifications

  • Knowledge and practical experience with HTML5 and CSS3
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems such as WordPress and Drupal
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • You must be technically proficient and have a firm understanding of design and UI/UX principles
  • Understanding of client-side build/config management
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
  • A good understanding of SEO principles
  • Driven, detail-oriented front-end developer with relevant experience as a web developer, UI developer, or front-end engineer to join our growing team
