Job Description

Clayton Services is searching for a Web Developer to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Web Developer will oversee and manage all aspects of the multisite e-commerce website environment, including integration with backend ERP, custom software development, troubleshooting, system improvements, and collaboration with various teams to ensure a comprehensive IT/Operations Strategy.


Job Type: Direct-Hire

Pay Rate: $125,000/annually

Web Developer Responsibilities:


  • Establish and oversee a multi-location website environment with e-commerce capabilities.
  • Evaluate existing software systems and propose recommendations for enhancements to improve the customer experience.
  • Analyze functional requirements and design the website to optimize online ordering processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot custom software using various programming languages and platforms.
  • Work with programmers to explain errors and suggest modifications to computer programs.
  • Ensure software stability through regression testing, quality assurance support, and conducting unit and user-acceptance testing to identify and fix bugs,
  • Provide technical support by identifying, investigating, and resolving software system issues for users.
  • Deploy software and assist in transitioning from current systems.
  • Integrate e-commerce orders from the website with the backend ERP system to enhance workflow.
  • Perform UI design, coding, and create reusable objects and wireframes for web pages and email templates.
  • Accommodate customer requests for minor edits, develop plans for larger projects, and propose solutions to enhance existing websites.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and IT Directors to develop a comprehensive IT/Operations Strategy.


Web Developer Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal), web applications, programming languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, PHP), and web services, with basic accounting knowledge and math skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and ability to support multiple locations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and exercise good judgment.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting abilities for technical and computer-related issues.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills and an aptitude for math.
  • Fluent in English with bilingual skills as a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software products and experienced in Microsoft Azure DevOps.


Web Developer Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in Website/CRM/Software Development scripting and project management.
