Job Title: Assistant Water Technician

Reports To: Mitigation Manager

Job Summary: Assistant Water Technicians are a key part of our Mitigation Team. They are responsible for much of the work of helping our clients put their office, homes, and lives back together. They execute the tasks delegated to them by their Lead Technician or Senior Technician. Tasks such as checking moisture content of building materials with a moisture meter; removal of building materials such as flooring, drywall, cabinets, and insulation; cleaning up wet debris in crawl spaces, attics, or other confined spaces. Occasionally, the water is contaminated with sewage, and you will need to suit up in the provided PPE. They also load, unload, and handle various types of drying equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air filtration devices, etc.

What You Will Do

• Execute all tasks delegated by Lead or Senior technician.
• Assist Lead or Senior Technician with maintaining the cleanliness and inventory of the company vehicle assigned
• Assist in disaster efforts in a weather event that causes major flooding, or a high volume of flood jobs
• Handle on-call duties (after 5 pm Monday-Friday, all hours of the weekend)
• Engage in communication with coworkers, especially Lead or Senior technicians
• Load & unload drying equipment
• Remove flooring, drywall, cabinets, insulation, etc.
• Clean up water damaged items inside of crawl spaces, attics, or other confined spaces.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to work in outdoor conditions.
• Must be able to work around microbial growth.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry up 80 pounds.
• Must be able to work in confined space
• Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours.
• Must be able to work in indoor non-airconditioned conditions.
• Must be able to work in a particulate mask (like N-95).
• Must be able to wear safety glasses or face shield.
• Must be able to work in a full-face respirator.
• Must be able to work in and around sewage.
• Must be able to sit for at least 6 hours (remember that we can get adjustable desks for many people if needed).
