Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Warehouse Worker is responsible for all medical equipment warehouse duties including but not limited to unloading trucks, receiving inventory, putting away inventory and processing staged orders to be shipped from the warehouse. This position processes Bills of Lading (BOLs) and selects the appropriate carrier is to be used depending on the location of customers receiving orders. Maintains a safe, orderly warehouse and participates in projects related to organization of staged orders, inventory, returns, inbound freight and outbound freight.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Reports issues with incoming product including damages, shortages and incorrect items received
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
  • Processes returns to vendors/suppliers
  • Receives freight on purchase orders in the equipment system
  • Unloads inbound freight utilizing a pallet jack
  • Puts away incoming freight by adding to existing staged orders or storing in available inventory utilizing a pallet jack or forklift
  • Maintains locations for available inventory, warehouse shipping supplies, janitorial supplies, and miscellaneous items in the warehouse
  • Participates in period inventory inspections and annual physical inventory
  • Trains and provides support for new Team Schein Members (TSM)
  • Maintains a safe, clean, orderly warehouse; removes trash and debris from the floor and performs general organizational tasks
  • Schedules inbound and outbound shipments and communicates with freight carriers
  • Performs inventory checks and reconciles inventory issues by researching inventory and order issues
  • Processes outbound shipments, pulls orders, processes BOLs, processes packing slips and maintains required documentation
  • Maintains locations of staged orders
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Forklift certification required (certification may be completed locally)
  • Driver’s license required
  • Pallet jack/hand truck use
  • Basic computer skills are required in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to plan and arrange activities

  • Very good time management skills and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task

  • Very good interpersonal communication skills
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Typically 2 or more years of related experience
  • Forklift experience is recommended
  • Previous warehouse experience is recommended
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
  • Typically High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Warehouse environment, utilizing typical warehouse equipment including a forklift, pallet jack and hand trucks in addition to typical office equipment
