Location of Job: Independence MO (Union)

D-shift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am (Sun/Mon/Tues and every other Wednesday)

Pay Rate – $22.55 with an additional $1.00 shift differential | Weekly pay periods

The Warehouse/Forklift Associate will direct, operate, and attend to all palletization activities, including starting and stopping machinery, ensuring CHEP pallets and other packaging materials are available, and loaded into machines, troubleshooting, accomplishing minor machinery repairs, daily maintenance, monitoring the speed of the equipment, ensuring the quality of finished goods pallets, gathering data, accurately documenting inventory, and completing production-related reports. Perform physical pallet movements of finished goods pallets, raw materials, packaging materials, and recycled materials to their respective areas. Accurately assemble bulk ingredients on pallets (50lb bags/boxes) with detailed attention to allergen control, ingredient lot control, and inventory accuracy.

What You'll Do

  • Must be able to complete all necessary paperwork and accurately maintain proper loading and receiving documentation and processes
  • Understand and apply LOTO procedures.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to housekeeping standards. Ensure work area is kept neat and orderly.
  • Willing to be trained to operate scissor lift equipment
  • Operate palletization equipment, troubleshoot process faults, and make required adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Assist Mechanics with major repairs, installations, and maintenance.
  • Ensure production, reconciliation, and inventory documents are completed neatly and accurately.
  • Transfer, by materials handling equipment, raw materials, package materials, supplies, finish goods and recyclable materials to designated areas physically as well as virtually via RF gun and PC.
  • Understand and implement quality concepts and controls as related to specific equipment and processes. Locate, understand, and apply Standard Operating Procedures and One Point Lessons. Write and train other team members on SOPs and OPLs.
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance of equipment. Develop, maintain, and follow cleaning, lubrication, and inspection standards.
  • Ability to operate materials handling equipment.
  • Coordinate activities between compounding, operations, maintenance, and the production execution
  • Utilize SAP and PC functionality to maintain inventory accuracy and proper placement of materials.
  • Must be able to accurately follow processes and procedures in a detail-oriented approach
  • Apply TPM principals to identify major loss areas, perform 5S practices.
  • Understand interaction of equipment and systems, identify equipment abnormalities, monitor equipment condition to improve outputs, interpret data (SPC, graphs, charts, OEE), identify problems (5-Why Analysis, PDCA Cycle), and formulate proper decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills used in preparing presentations and interaction with both internal and external customers. Accurately interpret written and oral instructions and follow systematic instructions.
  • Must be able to maintain working environment with established food industry standards and GMPs.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to plant safety procedures. Work in a safe manner. Communicate unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel. Understand how to locate and use MSDS documents.
  • Must be a certified forklift operator capable of safely operating in drive-in racks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Interact effectively with all levels to include manufacturing personnel, internal and external customers. Motivate, energize, and foster team activities and relationships.
  • Ability to resolve conflict.
  • Knowledge of basic math, including decimals and fractions
  • Must be able to physically lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Basic skills knowledge of formulas, schedules, and computer scanning devices
  • Must have a minimum of three (2) years recent warehouse/sit-down forklift experience, to include sit-down forklift operating experience within the last six (6) months.
