Our Fairbanks Westmark Hotel and Conference Center team is looking for Wait Staff to join our Food and Beverage team.

Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of food and beverage serving tasks.
• Routinely takes food and beverage orders, enters the orders into the restaurant's point of sale system, and serves the customers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner according to the hotel standards of quality.
• Answers customer queries
• Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner.

Requirements:

• Dedicated commitment to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.
• Must have or the ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handler's card prior to your first day of work.
• Must have or the ability to obtain an Alaska TAM (Training for the Alcohol Professional) certification prior to your first day of work.
• Wait Staff experience preferred. Experience in a hospitality environment considered a plus.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be able to legally work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.

Skills, Knowledge and Abillities:

• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products processes within the restaurant.
• Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to write and read reports and purchase orders, as well as basic math skills.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and dining etiquette.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including all company health and safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees and problem solve.
• Ability to transport a minimum of 35 pounds through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Knowledge of the electronic/supportive equipment available for functions/banquets.

**Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
