Position Summary:
The VP, PRO Sales is the Pro Division sales leader who directs the development and execution of the PRO vision, strategy, plans and processes that will drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial goals. They will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new markets, partners, channels and customers. The VP, Pro Sales position requires a self-starter with proven collaboration, analytic and leadership skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Organizes and follows up on existing and new leads
  • Leads the negotiation and establishment of strategic partnership programs and activations, including the completion of proposals, timelines, budgets, and execution
  • Manages all sales team members and processes
  • Strategically empowers e Sales function with a clear focus on execution and accountability to deliver results
  • Responsible for Training, mentoring and motivating the sales team
  • Establishes a sustainable winning culture with a passion for team development and growth
  • Partners with Marketing to develop, execute and clearly document follow up of marketing promotions and campaigns
  • Researches and analyzes the business environment, competitors, and customers to develop ideas for the new products and services, pricing and business models.
  • Leads the development of a focused and high-achieving salesforce and the implementation of a incentive based compensation plan to drive and reward sales performance and growth.
  • Sets quarterly and annual sales goals and motivating the sales team to achieve their goals.
  • Collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans.
  • Establishes and maintains key customer relationships.
  • Identifies where improvements can be made and developing sales plans and strategies to achieve sales goals.
  • Develops new tools and execute on new processes to support a successful sales cycle
  • Reviews PRO activity to anticipate customer needs and improve customer satisfaction.
Education, Experience & Skills:
Minimum education required/preferred, area of study:
  • Bachelors degree in business related field
Minimum years of relevant experience required:
  • 7 years of experience in a sales leadership position
  • 2 years experience in a senior level leadership role
Additional skills/knowledge required include:
  • Excellent leadership communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of Boating Industry
  • Knowledge of selling strategies and methods
  • Strong working knowledge of West Marine’s products and market
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding large cross-functional teams, across different geographies while developing talent and organizational capabilities
  • Great strategic planning, organizational and creative thinking skills
