Nautilus seeks an exceptional and experienced finance leader who is eager to redefine the multi-billion-dollar fitness and health industry. The Vice President of Finance, along with the CFO, will operate as a strong partner to the CEO and other members of the executive leadership team and will bring strong business insight and financial acumen to the table as the company embarks on its next phase of evolution. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and expertise leading change and will have been part of a management effort to transform and grow a business and drive operational efficiencies while also managing diverse stakeholders. S/he will have strategic planning skills to link the strategic goals of the company to resource allocation and performance expectations through robust forecasting/planning and understanding of the business.


Ideal candidates will have outstanding financial and business acumen and will bring transformational experience from a relevant consumer durables or related company where brand management, technology, engineering, and product development are key factors in creating value and competitive advantage. Commercial judgment and a business-partner mindset are key qualifications. The successful candidate will be a proven collaborative, hands-on team player, with exceptional management and influencing skills, and the desire to drive efficiency and seize opportunities in a fast-paced transformative environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • M&A/Business Development: Support the evaluation of M&A and other business development opportunities, including valuation, due diligence, negotiation/execution of transactions, and integration of acquired businesses.
  • Team leadership: Along with the CFO instill a culture that fosters empowerment and engagement. Provide strong leadership in the recruitment and development of top-quality financial talent to ensure the finance organization has a high level of performance and productivity.
  • Cash and Liquidity Management: Strengthen the company's balance sheet by maintaining sufficient operating cash and allow access to capital markets and debt facilities.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Partner with Head of Commercial Finance / Integrated Business Planning to develop long-range plans, annual budget, and monthly forecasts. Develop and review financial forecasts with business owners to ensure performance is in line with expectations and external guidance. Develop and manage performance dashboards, including measures and metrics to monitor and analyze business. Provide financial and business decision leadership support for both ongoing business and the development of new growth opportunities.
  • Strategic Partner to the CFO and to the ELT. Serve as a senior member of the finance leadership team and as a key partner in the development of strategic plans; ensure the linkage of those plans to annual budgets and Foster high integrity and trusting relationships with the board, leadership team, investors, regulators, and customers.
  • Financial Reporting/Accounting/Controls: Continue to improve and enhance external and internal financial reporting. Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, and analysis of performance, in accordance with standards of accounting and the law. Ensure the fiscal integrity of the company's business through the enhancement and management of accounting systems and Monitor controls and ensure compliance with SOX.
  • Board interface: Partner with the CFO and executive leadership team to drive disciplined and focused execution of company financial plans and strategy, balancing both short-term and long-term needs. Along with the CFO, work closely with the Audit Committee to ensure quarterly task lists are accomplished in a timely manner.


DESIRED OUTCOMES


  • Ensure adequate liquidity is maintained at all times with consistent cash from operations and/or accessing capital markets (issuance of equity/debt) as well as securing bank facilities Further optimize the company's financial processes and tools to drive faster and more efficient monthly closes and forecast. Improve the company's ability to "scenario plan"
  • Partner effectively with the executive leadership team to build the business and drive continued growth,
  • Work closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to enhance the company's operating model – to make it nimbler and more adaptable to the fitness market dynamics


Ideal Experience


  • Treasury, Investor Relations, or M&A
  • Experience taking a business through multiple phases of growth/lifecycle preferred, as is experience with business model transformation using technology.
  • Senior Director will be considered on a selective basis.
  • Organizational lifecycle/ Business Model Transformation
  • Strong academic credentials, including a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant CPA and/or MBA desirable
  • Relevant Sector Experience
  • Experience in consumer durables or related sectors where brand management, technology, engineering, and product development are key factors in creating value and competitive advantage. Deep understanding of businesses that are grounded in consumer insights, marketing, and branding. Experience with software/digital technology products and recurring revenue services (subscription-based models) to complement hardware is highly
  • Seasoned Finance Leader
  • Current divisional CFO of a larger company or CFO of a smaller company
  • Experience working with banks and rating agencies and closing innovative financing structures required.
  • Preferred: Prior experience in investor relations and M&A


The pay range for this role is $265K to $320K which considers factors such as candidate experience, skills, training, internal team equity and local norms.
