NATURE AND SCOPE:


Under the authority of the Chief Global Accreditation Officer and supervision of the Senior VP International Strategy/Development, the Vice President International facilitates and leads the development and implementation of an effective global strategic plan aligned with the overall strategic direction and objectives of Cognia. The Vice President manages global development and expansion in countries outside the United States, especially in the Latin American countries. The Vice President provides leadership as a liaison with ministries of education and other key agencies. The Vice President utilizes current educational knowledge, expertise, and extensive knowledge of Cognia solutions to successfully provide guidance, support, and training to Cognia staff. The Vice President promotes Cognia’s vision, mission, and philosophy.


PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:


  • Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies in the Global Division as well as policies, practices, and procedures, and suggests appropriate corrective procedures as needed.
  • Works with the Global Division to provide quality assurance on the integrity and fidelity of implementation of all aspects of protocols, policies, and procedures and all work conducted with international institutions.
  • Ensures that quarterly and annual goals and priorities are met.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to Global Division staff on all aspects of business and training initiatives for institutions.
  • Fosters positive and collaborative working relationships within the Global Division and across the organization to accomplish organization-wide goals.
  • Develops meaningful relationships and works collaboratively with colleagues across the organization.
  • Ensures effective and ongoing training is provided on all Cognia products, services, and solutions, as appropriate, for all staff members in the Global Division.
  • Collaborates with global leadership to design, implement and drive a global strategic plan aligned to Cognia’s strategic direction.
  • Follows in all respects the Cognia code of ethics.
  • Serves as a facilitator on all Cognia products and services for all global institutions.
  • Perform duties and fulfill responsibilities that may, from time to time, include related or unrelated tasks.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key leaders in ministries of education and/or other key educational entities outside the United States.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Education & Experience:


  • Master’s degree in education or related field; doctoral degree preferred
  • A proven track record of successfully assessing institutions’ needs to improve learning and organizational effectiveness
  • Ten (10) years of successful leadership experience in an education-related organization or equivalent education and experience is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of education, quality learning environments, curriculum and effective instruction, program development and evaluation, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to school administration and teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, executing and accomplishing strategic plans that substantively contribute to the attainment of the organizations, goals and objectives

  • Extensive knowledge of all products, services, and solutions offered by Cognia
  • Ability to engage clients in meaningful and long lasting professional and business relations
  • Ability to organize, manage and implement multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to develop and maintain high levels of client engagement
  • Extensive knowledge base of current issues in international education, accreditation, public and private system and institution improvement, research and evaluation
  • Ability to build and maintain connections with educational associations and international agencies and their leaders
  • Ability to deliver high quality professional development through oral and written presentations
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint and other software and web-based applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take personal initiative to promote Cognia


Anticipated Travel (may include local, national, and/or international travel):


  • Extensive travel (>40%)
