Job Description
Job Summary


Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of the organization in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the Executive Vice President & COO. The VP Facilities, Construction & Support Services will serve as the system executive responsible for all building engineering, construction management, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), and Security functions with an emphasis on deploying emerging energy technologies, system facilities efficiencies and project management across the system footprint.


This leader will also be the champion and lead Executive ensuring timely and cost effective completion of all new construction projects throughout the system. This leader will provide oversight and support of the system owned and leased real estate and partner closely with other key company executives to ensure the most efficient operation and maintenance of all building operations and equipment. This executive will lead the emergency/outage response process across all facilities and manage our cost structure/efficiencies across the system facilities portfolio.


Must have the skills to develop, implement and evaluate the master facility plans for the system to match executive strategic business plans to assure attainment of the organization's overall strategic mission. Demonstrated adaptability to envision future business trends and establish appropriate goals to support shifts in priorities and direction of business plans. Leads, coaches, and develops teams to achieve high performance standards and strategic objectives.


Education


Required


  • Bachelor's Degree in business, health care administration, or related field required


Preferred


  • Certification or Licensure in at least one skilled trade

Required


  • Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, be a team member and educate others, relate to all levels of the organization, comprehend complex and technical subjects, create and motivate behavior changes, translate financial and technical language to lay audiences, and plan, implement, and monitor processes in a complex health care environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of facility and engineering in hospitals and healthcare organizations,
  • In-depth understanding of the key issues that exist in the health care facilities and engineering related to efficiency, reliability and durability.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and their application to a large healthcare system.
  • Knowledge of process analysis and design.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in managing facilities and engineering in a large healthcare system.
  • Proven experience in direct management and accountability for large scale global team
  • Proven skills in interpersonal relationships, planning, organizing, and follow-up, budget preparation and monitoring, and management and leadership. Developed and managed data center mission critical environments (N 1 or greater)
  • Experience with energy management systems hardware and software including the ability to integrate and develop more efficient and cost effective solutions
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, chemical and architectural engineering skills with a detailed understanding of regulatory requirements across global geographies
  • LEED Accreditation or ability to become accredited within 6 months of hire date, if necessary


Preferred


  • At least 5 years of direct management responsibility for facilities, engineering and real estate.
  • Specific experience with energy system upgrades and management is preferred.
