The Volcan Brand Ambassador will champion and convey knowledge of MHUSA’s Tequila, Volcan de mi Tierra, by working toward our goal of maximizing the brand’s awareness and equity. They will develop detailed knowledge of the brand and will be seen as an extension of brand team stakeholders, someone that the trade, consumers, and influencers, will go to for education, inspiration, and credibility.
The Volcan Regional Brand Ambassador is responsible for localization of marketing initiatives and collaborating with commercial stakeholders to build relationships and brand advocacy in assigned markets. This fulltime position will support the commercial sales teams brand building efforts through activations and activities that drive awareness, education, and engagement with both the trade and consumers alike.
  • Serve as the market expert for Volcan de mi Tierra’s /Agave spirits category; understand what drives consumer behavior based on different cultural and demographic segments.
  • Drive brand performance according to Brand Equity KPIs: volume and value, quality of the distribution, quantity, and quality of brand activations & media noise (traditional, digital and social)
  • Host key consumer/trade events (dinners, networking events, etc.), key accounts/event sampling events and PR opportunities
  • In close relationship with the local commercial team, train, bartenders/mixologists, wait-staff (on & off premise), account managers, and distributor network inclusive of brand training, mixology and programming (Trainings may include audience outside of trade, such as consumers, gatekeepers & press)
  • Propose, implement, and monitor brand marketing plans to achieve sales and profit objectives for Brand/Category. Manage the activation budget for brand development and promotion activity
  • In conjunction with brand stakeholders, lead Casa Volcan Distillery visits with key stakeholders with internal and external audiences from respective markets and finding creative ways to bring the Casa Volcan experience to local markets
  • Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly reporting including, but not limited to, personal performance management, event ROI, social media activity, competitive activity, samplings, trainings, etc.
  • Work with local and regional sales teams to identify, prioritize and schedule account and distributor visits for trainings
  • Develop and foster relationship with key accounts, influential trade stakeholders and decision makers to maximize Volcan de mi Tierra’s visibility and presence on cocktail menu’s, by the bottle listings and prominent back bar and shelf displays in image driving accounts.
  • Own, drive and evaluate Brand/Category strategies in local markets within a geographic territory, focusing on key accounts to maximize brand sales
  • Identify and implement strategic program opportunities that match cultural and demographic characteristics for both consumer and trade
Additional Information | Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant service industry, F&B/Hospitality experience commensurate with job qualifications required to perform job functions listed
Professional Experience
5-7 years of F&B / Hospitality Industry experience required; beverage alcohol experience preferred
Knowledge of 3-Tier System with established relationships with distributor personnel and key accounts in respective market (Preferred)
Practical/Technical Knowledge
  • Understanding of the U.S. three-tier distribution system, a plus
  • An appreciation of the critical necessity to act as a team, and the ability to motivate in achieving agreed objectives.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Strong networking, influencing and communication skills.
  • Full understanding of modern selling and training techniques.
  • Understanding of brand strategy development in a commercial context
  • Affinity with and cultural ability to represent the values of Luxury wines and spirits.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and adaptable mindset by continually evaluating and responding with agility to meet rapidly evolving business need
  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Highly entrepreneurial: agile, quick to action, seeking new opportunities with a growth mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills to support data-driven decision making
  • Travel Expectations across geographic coverage region – New York, New Jersey & Rhode Island
  • In-depth knowledge of liquor consumption trends, habits, and preferences of consumers in the category (tequila category a plus)
