The Visual Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining brand Visual Merchandising strategies by creating and managing all visual merchandising guidelines, documents, and standards to ensure brand consistency throughout rue21 stores.
- Work directly with the Senior Visual Manager and Director to create visual merchandising direction for all Visual documents inclusive of rueVisual, standards, promotional documents, testing guidelines, and other directives that support the field teams
- Elevate the visual experience in stores through clear communication that is always evolving to remain relevant and on trend in the industry
- Facilitate frequent calls utilizing always evolving training tools for Regional Directors and District Managers to train in strengthening field implementation of merchandising strategies, visual floorsets, and best practices
- Assist cross-functional teams with special projects and New Store Openings
- Support in the mock store to set current floorsets and drive future strategies for upcoming seasons
- Manage Visual project list and mock store calendar to ensure cross-functional partners and leadership have visibility to milestones
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- 5+ years' experience in a retail apparel environment with managerial duties in merchandise presentation
- Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
- Ability to work with and influence senior management
- Prior managerial/supervisor experience
- Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Prior retail experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business or related field
- Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
