Position Summary

The VDC Manager assists the Director of Technology & Innovation in all technology and VDC operations related company functions.The position is an integral part of both keeping the company current in VDC technology and identifying best practice methods for advancing technological implementations.Above all, this position requires a strong desire to lead, mentor, and learn.All applicants should be driven by exploring innovative technology solutions to potentially common problems.



Key Responsibilities:

• Leading, mentoring, teaching a team of BIM & reality capture specialists+

• Develop & execute standard operating procedures as it relates to VDC & BIM

• Develop or acquire 3D models based on drawings or point clouds, as needed, to generate BIM content for use in proposals, presentations, and during design review in preconstruction.+

• Supports the execution of Bulley & Andrews’ role in preconstruction workflows.

• In conjunction with the project team, prepare and implement a VDC execution plan.

• Prepare the BIM Execution Plan and lead implementation.+

• Host weekly coordination meetings, perform quality control, ensure subcontractors are updating models, and follow up on outstanding issues in conjunction with project team.+

• Interact with project sites frequently, ensuring the field teams are current on best practices for VDC.

• Manage and participate in the VDC training rotation, aimed at new and recent hires in both the field and office.+

• Assists in laser scanning, processing and analyzing of scan data and photogrammetry imaging.

• Proactively pursues personal development to remain proficient in latest BIM technologies and programs.

• Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.

• Performance of this job may require periodic meetings at off-site locations and jobsites.

Qualifications

·Bachelor’s degree in a construction, architecture+, engineering or a technology-related area.

·2 - 3 years of experience in a combination of construction operations, preconstruction, architecture or VDC in the AEC industry.

·Strong understanding of the following programs:

oAutodesk Revit

oAutodesk AutoCAD

oAutodesk Navisworks*

oPhotoshop*

oVisualization software such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Fuzor*, Enscape, Adobe After Effects and/or Unity* (or something similar)

oRhino*

·Understands the building process, especially renovation

·Has understanding of reality capture tools, processing, and use including, but not limited to: laser & SLAM scanners, drones, 360 cameras

·Willingness to become the company subject matter expert in BIM and VDC

·Strong interpersonal collaboration skills

·Ability to manage many tasks simultaneously

·Can prioritize well and will be detail oriented

·Desire to research and beta new systems is encouraged

·Team builder & team player

·Process orientated

·Effectively facilitates meetings
