Job Description
Job Summary
Suns Legacy Partners includes several companies and many different departments that support the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Footprint Center.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Video Coordinator with the Phoenix Suns Basketball Operations Department. As Video Coordinator, you will play a crucial role contributing to on-court Player Development and film analysts needs within the Suns Basketball Operations Department. This position will be responsible for supporting coaching staff and front office staff with video needs regarding past games, upcoming opponents, potential draft picks, and free agents. This role will focus heavily on breaking down, editing and synthesizing video of upcoming opponents for game presentation, of Suns’ games for evaluation, and providing video to players for development and study. This role includes significant team travel during the NBA season and varying work hours (early mornings, late evenings) depending on game schedule and team needs.
What Will You Do
  • Curious and motivated to learn, focused on gaining broad knowledge and skill-building.
  • Catalog the season’s practice plans, game reports, and game for archives.
  • Conduct thorough basketball-related research.
  • Share video of home games to officials, visiting team, and Suns’ personnel.
  • Assist coaching staff in compiling scouting reports for upcoming opponents.
  • Breakdown video of upcoming Suns’ opponents for the coaching staff.
  • Create edits for the coaching staff to be shown to the team while preparing for a game.
  • Create edits for the coaching staff to be shown to the team postgame.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Code Suns’ games for specific actions and results.
What We Need From Our Video Coordinator
  • Must have advanced knowledge of basketball, including terminology, basic strategy, and the NBA.
  • Must be able to work under strict deadlines and in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills and must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization, analysis and report writing.
  • Must be technology savvy, especially with video-related technology, but apple/MacBook software proficiency.
  • Previous playing experience at the professional or collegiate level in a highly competitive institution or sports team preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years post-study experience with a basketball staff coaching athletes, with a deep understanding of the demands and challenges they face.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and prioritize based on organizational experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with technology/editing needs.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency of Hudl, Sportscode and Synergy video editing software. Other coding software skills are preferable.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic sports environment.
  • Experience running queries and reporting functions with Second Spectrum in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to take initiative on work assignments, player/coach needs and possess be a self-starter, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Candidates must possess a collaborative, team-oriented character traits with high attention to detail.
