Overview
Position Summary:
Nusano has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Supply Chain. Nusano has a facility in Valencia, CA and is building a 190,000 square foot, particle accelerator-based radioisotope production facility in West Valley City, Utah. The Vice President of Supply Chain is a senior executive responsible for leading the supply chain operations of the organization. The role involves strategic planning, coordination, and optimization of all activities related to the sourcing, procurement, production, logistics, and distribution of goods and services.
This growth-oriented executive removes obstacles and working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors, to establish a supply chain process that will maximize the Company’s isotope production operations.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
  • Process Optimization: Identifying opportunities to streamline and improve supply chain processes. This includes implementing lean principles, leveraging technology and automation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks within the supply chain, such as disruptions in supply, natural disasters, or geopolitical factors. This involves developing contingency plans, diversifying suppliers, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing the overall supply chain strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes setting performance metrics and targets for supply chain operations.
  • Logistics and Distribution: Managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks to ensure efficient movement of goods. This involves selecting transportation modes, optimizing routes, and coordinating with logistics providers to meet customer demands.
  • Technology and Systems: Identify and implement supply chain technologies and systems to enhance visibility, automation, and efficiency. Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in supply chain management and leverage technology advancements where appropriate.
  • Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory levels, forecasting demand, and developing inventory control strategies. This includes optimizing inventory turnover, minimizing stockouts, and reducing excess inventory.
  • Team Leadership: Building and leading a high-performing supply chain team. This includes hiring and developing talent, providing guidance and support, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Supplier Management: Managing relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. This involves developing strategies to evaluate suppliers, monitoring performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements and managing the procurement team.
  • Sustainability and Social Responsibility: Integrating sustainable practices and ethical considerations into the supply chain. This includes implementing environmentally friendly initiatives, promoting fair labor practices, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, facilities, project management, engineering, scientific, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and integration of supply chain activities with overall business strategies.
Overall, the Vice President of Supply Chain Management plays a critical role in optimizing the supply chain to drive operational efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction. They must possess strong leadership skills, analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and industry best practices. The ideal candidate is an accomplished and senior-level leader with experience working with life sciences, pharmaceutical and or biotechnology companies; has an exceptional track record of leading and building innovative teams as well as an appreciation for science focused on high unmet medical needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management is required. Prefer candidates with a master's degree or MBA.
Professional Experience:
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in supply chain management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, data analytics tools, and other relevant technologies is increasingly important. Knowledge of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and Internet of Things (IoT) in the context of supply chain management can be an added advantage.
  • Strategic Thinking: Should demonstrate a track record of aligning supply chain strategies with overall business objectives, driving cost efficiencies, and optimizing operational performance.
  • Extensive experience in supply chain management and related roles is crucial. Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain operations, procurement, logistics, or a similar field. This experience should include positions of increasing responsibility and leadership.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Candidates should possess excellent analytical skills to identify trends, analyze data, and make informed decisions. They should be adept at problem-solving, capable of resolving complex supply chain challenges, and implementing process improvements.
  • Supply Chain Expertise: In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles, practices, and technologies is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, production planning, transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Familiarity with supply chain analytics, forecasting, and optimization tools is also beneficial.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills are necessary to oversee and motivate a team of supply chain professionals. Candidates should have experience in building and managing high-performing teams, providing guidance and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with biotech, biopharmaceutical or medical device industry and manufacturing. Understanding industry trends, regulations, and best practices can help shape effective supply chain strategies and mitigate risks.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Effective communication and interpersonal skills are critical for collaborating with stakeholders, negotiating with suppliers, and building strong relationships across departments. Candidates should be able to communicate complex supply chain concepts clearly and influence others to achieve objectives.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in supply chain management is valuable. Pursuing certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) can demonstrate dedication to professional growth
Physical Requirements:
  • Works in an office environment, making strategic decisions, collaborating with various departments, and handling high-pressure situations. The role may involve travel, long hours, and a focus on technology-driven analytics to optimize operations and ensure regulatory compliance.

USD $225,000.00 - USD $275,000.00 /Yr.
