Vice President of Finance
Reports to:Managing Director
Position Summary:
The Vice President of Finance for SALT Venture Partners is responsible for the planning, reporting, coordination and execution of the financial matters related to company and its portfolio companies and shared service center. The Vice President of Finance works directly with the team and portfolio company CEOs to manage and oversee all aspects of finance with the goal of ensuring the fiscal year, reporting accuracy, legal compliance and ethical management practices. The VP of Finance provides in depth analysis and reporting on all budget matters and works with the Managing Directors for each location to ensure that all operations achieve results within budget guidelines.
Skills/Competencies/Qualifications
- Manage and accurately account for bank account deposits and disbursements.
- Ensure that all local general ledger accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Maintain financial procedures and ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
- Ensures contract revenues are appropriately recorded, invoiced and collected.
- Track and evaluate the financial operations of both locations. Meets with department heads monthly to review, in detail, the monthly financial performance of each area. Plans are continually reviewed and adjustments and strategy changes are made when necessary.
- Reviews restaurant, store and special events accounting and sales transactions.
- Monthly revenue & expense (P&L) reporting and analysis.
- Support Managing Directors in financial and analytical analysis of special projects, as needed.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
- Routinely labor costs of all company and portfolio company employee.
- Continually evaluate and promote wise spending of CIA Look for cost efficiencies and waste reduction or elimination.
- In coordination with relevant Portfolio Company CEOs and the Company accounting and finance team members, the VP Finance provides support in the preparation of the annual budgets and provides feedback and analysis to both Finance to ensures the accuracy and completeness of all data reported. Analyze and determine cause of variance between actual expenses and budgeted expenses.
Education And Experience requirements:
- Outstanding leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
- An analytical mind with good organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principals, and financial analysis.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in financial role and finance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Other Requirements:
- Fully bilingual with advanced Spanish and English
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite – experience with PowerBI, NetSuite a plus
