The Vice President, Finance is responsible for leading the Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions of the Nidec Americas Shared Service (NAHC) Center and serving as a trusted advisor to the global Nidec business.
Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure effective and efficient shared service delivery.
  • Provide environment for career growth and satisfaction.
  • Oversee general accounting, consolidations, financial reporting, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions ensuring timely and accurate reporting and strong collaboration between teams.
  • Evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement (process, technology, staffing), and implement approved changes.
  • Develop and maintain policies and systems to ensure records are maintained in accordance with IFRS.
  • Prepare annual budgets and supporting documentation, monitor adherence to budgets, and develop metrics to allocate shared service charges to supported business units.
  • Mitigate financial risks to the organization by monitoring adherence to the company’s internal controls.
  • Attract, develop, engage and retain key talent.
  • Ensure all new accounting regulations are implemented throughout the group of companies.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with key business stakeholders to drive improvements in shared services.
  • Lead complex accounting transactions including accounting due diligence for acquisitions, purchase accounting, and implementation of new accounting regulations.
  • Be a key leader in supporting the long term strategic plan for the shared service organization and the Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable departments.
  • Lead change for standardization and automation of accounting and finance department processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • High standards of data accuracy, commitment, and integrity.
  • Ability to make decisions and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Ideal candidate will have prior experience overseeing accounting and finance-related functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to solve problems using a team approach. Must be able to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external consultants and auditors.
  • Technical accounting expertise required.
  • CPA license and Big 4 public experience preferred.
  • 15+ years of increasing responsibility in finance roles.
  • Strategic planning, project management and tactical implementation skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. Customer service-oriented focus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. MBA or master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of leadership in finance and change management.

The VP, Finance will report to the NAHC CFO.
