Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Serves as fiscal liaison providing management and reporting of fiscal operations of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). Prepares financial reports and analysis of VTH financial data for management review for $16M service center. Reviews, analyzes and makes projections based on university and industry best practices guidance. Reconciles daily closeout of cash/credit card revenue, myWSU, online and Care Credit payments with Patient Management System data and in accordance with university and departmental policy. Allocates service center revenue and prepares budget-to-actuals reports for all sections of the hospital. Oversees VTH Accounts Receivable and supervises staff.

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Demonstrated experience using accounting information systems and/or applications software.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience preparing financial reports.
  • Knowledge of WSU policies and procedures
  • One year of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience with Workday or other similar financial software
  • Experience in fund accounting at institution of higher education.
