Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Vendor Relations / Vendor Operations Manager is to develop and coach staff through initial on-boarding, with open communication, continual training, and development opportunities. Develops and maintains employee and team morale. This person will lead the Merchant Vendor Operations and Vendor Relations teams and will act as the single point of contact between the vendor and Burlington.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Vendor Support

  • Conducts and manages vendor review meetings. Prepares agenda items, sends all material, shares results, and facilitates meeting. Collaborates with vendors to create action plans and while holding them accountable while shipping future deliveries
  • You will define, analyze, and assess key performance metrics to ensure vendors are meeting our expectations.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating all policies, standards and procedures found within our vendor manual.
  • Communicate and maintain vendor scorecards and manage vendor relationships towards achieving top level performance
  • Coordinate and lead business reviews with vendors
  • Meetings will be virtual, in person, trade shows, LA or NY market or various industry events
  • Coaching team to act as the escalation point for all Vendor concerns while working with them to problem solve and mediate through challenges and opportunities as they arise
  • Ensure fluent communication between team, vendors, and Buyers
  • Respond to vendor related questions or issues for quick resolution
  • Provides comprehensive analysis on supplier’s performance to identify trends and actionable insights
  • Leads conversations with our vendors while building relationships and developing ideas for improvement
  • Determine improvement and optimization areas and design action plans based on the vendors needs
  • Leads team to research and dive into data to report on key vendor metrics and present findings to the Merchants, Vendor and/or team leadership

Team Support

  • Communicate clear instructions to team members
  • Documenting operational tasks and reporting to upper-level management
  • Administer and performing employee mid-year and annual reviews and while providing continuous support through real time coaching throughout the year
  • Bringing the teams together to build and enhance our current onboarding program to be best of class support to our vendors
  • Continue to develop and improve with new employee onboarding and training program
  • Driving compliance and deduction resolution reviews with the team
  • Organizing team roles and evaluating employee performance
  • Update and create team’s SOPs as needed
  • Create and distribute reports to update the company on the team’s progress
  • Managing small project teams to develop, execute and complete assignments
  • Manage the flow of day-to-day operations

Education and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and conceptual ability
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced work environment and adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • General Retail Merchandising and/or Supply Chain knowledge required
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
  • Minimum 5 years managing area in Logistics, Supply Chain or Retail Operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strategic and critical thinking
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office Suite
