Vault Teller- Sterling Heights

FreeStar Financial Credit Union is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Vault Teller for our Sterling Heights Branch. If you would love to use your customer service skills for a growing credit union, this may be the right job for you!

Salary: $17-$18/Hour

Job Location: Sterling Heights

Days: Mon-Fri

Hours: 8:30-5:30, till 6:00 on Fridays

Position Purpose

The primary purpose of a Vault Teller is assist FreeStar Financial Credit Union in fulfilling our mission by identifying member needs and providing service excellence. As well as maintaining accuracy of the vault and all cash items.

What You'll Do In This Role

• Assist tellers with balancing and auditing any out of balance conditions.
• Ensure the teller line is adequately stocked with all necessary supplies.
• Perform audits on ATM, key log and stamps monthly.
• Provide members with account status as requested.
• Scan Daily Work.
• Assist the Member Access Center as needed.
• Ensure night deposits are retrieved and logged no later than 9:00 a.m. each day.
• Balance vault daily.
• Process night deposit and ATM transactions.
• Meet member needs by cross-selling all products and services offered by the credit union. Must achieve the minimum sales standards as established by leadership.
• Place weekly cash orders timely. Accept and verify incoming and outgoing cash from the Federal Reserve.
• Perform surprise cash counts on all teller drawers monthly.
• Provide efficient and accurate service in transactions which include check cashing, deposits, withdrawals or transfers through the lobby/drive-thru and over the phone.
• Balance on a daily basis the assigned cash drawer including all negotiable instruments.
• Responsible for the daily vault cash to and from the tellers.
• Complete CTR and SAR Reports as necessary.
• Ensure checks are forwarded to the Accounting Department weekly.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Right to Financial Privacy Act
• Regulation CC (Funds Availability)
• Preferred knowledge of various federal regulations and the responsibilities relating to each act of the following:
• Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
• Regulation E (EFTS)
• Minimum 3 years similar or related experience in the financial industry.
• Truth in Savings Act
• Regulation Z (Truth in Lending)
