Job Description

TITLE: VALET ATTENDANT

The Valet Attendant will be responsible for parking and retrieving Guest passenger vehicles, helping direct and coordinate the operational needs of the casino while promoting Guest Service best practices with an upbeat and positive attitude at entry points around the Casino, and at events. Responsible for the safe operation and transport of Guest vehicles on company property.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeps all carpets, glass and outside doors clean and free from trash in addition to sanitizing surfaces regularly.
  • Visually inspects Guests’ vehicles upon receipt, and at the time of retrieval, for any vehicle damage.
  • Fields Guest complaints, finding the appropriate manager for resolution.
  • Exhibit the highest degree of professionalism, including appearance, reliability, team work, ethics, integrity, and with co-workers at all times.
  • Parks incoming cars safely and efficiently while obeying all speed limits, traffic laws, and vehicle operation policies.
  • Reports cash tips in accordance with IRS tip reporting rules and Eagle Mountain Casino policies.
  • Ability to have a positive interaction with all Guests and welcome back regular Guests by name.
  • Manages flow of parking functions including logging tickets and notifying valet of pickup.
  • Directs self-parking Guests to appropriate parking spaces.
  • Participate in open communication and provide feedback to management regarding operations, staffing, personal development, and operational productivity.
  • Anticipates needs for all Guests such as opening vehicle and building doors.
  • Maintains logs and runs reports relative to car counts and other parking-related information.
  • Informs out of town Guests about the property and amenities in order to enhance their experience.
  • Meets and greets Guests entering and exiting the casino, at events, or other gaming activities as assigned.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Prospects Guests for Legacy Rewards Club membership, explaining current promotions/offers (value-based selling) while providing directions to all Guests as needed.
  • Employ positive and professional communication skills, and exercise professional interpersonal abilities (tact, diplomacy, and respect) with Guests and co-workers at all times.
  • Must work to keep valet lines moving at all times, communicating with attendants (via radio).
  • Maintain a high level of organization, including an orderly and neat work area, and excellent time management skills leading to the highest levels of productivity.
  • Demonstrate a desire to succeed and willingness to help others succeed.
  • Perform job duties, demonstrate excellent work habits, and deliver exceptional service to internal and external guests.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to obtain and retain a gaming license with the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Demonstrate high productivity, dependability and excellent attendance history.
  • Must be able to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • High school or equivalent degree.
  • Must have and retain a valid driver’s license, and be insurable through the casino’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced verbal and written communication, and Guest service skills mandatory.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately manage multiple complex projects, use time management skills and independent judgment mandatory.
  • Ability to work with confidential/sensitive information and use excellent judgment and diplomacy in communicating with high-level executives and management team.
  • Must be able to operate a computer.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, run, and sit.
  • Repeatedly required to reach with hands and arms, use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to perform all essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May have exposure to cigarette smoke inside and outside of casino.
  • Noise level is moderate to high when on casino floor, and exposed to ringing bells and flashing lights.
  • Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
  • Noise level is moderate to high while working outdoors around vehicles, exposed to audible car and horn noises and audible radio traffic.
  • Long periods of sitting, standing, walking, and/or running.
  • Required to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, exert up to 50 pounds.

SUPERVISES: None

HOURS: The casino operates 24/7. Schedule, shift, and hours will vary

SALARY: $/hr. plus tips / weekly pay / overtime eligible
