This position is in Space Information Technology & Digital Enablement (IT&DE) organization, which develops transformative and innovate solutions enabling LM Space to have data driven insights in development of 21st Century Security. We design, build, and continuously improve the technologies that enable the Space business to deliver customer value.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a team of UX/UI designers who works closely with our Development and Immersive Design/3D team to produce applications and experiences that tell Lockheed Martin’s key initiatives. He or she must understand the various tools and techniques available that present large and complex data in a usable, understandable, and appealing way,and know how and when to implement each for maximum impact. This role is a blend of technical and leadership expertise; the selected candidate will lead other engineers in the design of user interfaces/experiences that align data insights with the users’ goals and needs as well as participate in that design. He or she will effectively document and communicate UX and visual design of projects (including rationale/benefits) using personas, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, workflows, user stories, test dashboards and visualizations. If selected, you will be working directly with customers in addition to your technical team, so the ability to interface with individuals of varying levels of expertise will be required. In addition, he or she will be responsible for developing an overall UX strategy for our organization.
Key Responsibilities include:

• Plan, estimate, and assign team members to projects with varying levels of completion timelines
• Leadership through active coaching, engagement, and development of 5-10 team members
• Identify target user groups, lead the information gathering process for requirements, and direct the team to design complete user experiences that meet the clients’ needs and vision
• Stay abreast of the latest technology and trends in industry to inform a comprehensive internal UX strategy for IT&DE

Basic Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal clients to understand detailed requirements and communicate those needs to a technical team.
• Experience in identifying target user groups and leading interviews or other types of inquiry to help understand user needs for design
• Understand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for both
• Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior
• 5+ years of experience in the UX/UI development field and Full Spectrum Leadership capabilities with the ability to provide continuous performance feedback, coaching and investing in people

Desired Skills:

• UX certification from accredited source (NN/g or similar)
• Produce high-quality solutions through flow diagrams, branding, graphic designs, animations, storyboards, site maps, and high-fidelity wireframes
• Analytical mind with business acumen
• Problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges
• Perform tests on user interface elements such as layouts, target links, landing pages and banners
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences
• Knowledge of industry within Adobe creative suite: Illustrator, PhotoShop, InDesign, Adobe XD

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $105,000 - $201,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $120,700 - $227,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
