Job Description

Title: Sr UX Researcher

Location: Menlo Park, CA or San Francisco, CA

Duration: 6 months on W2

Pay Rate: $70+/hr


Summary:

We are seeking an experienced researcher to join our Messenger Research team for a 6 month contract to support research needs in the personal communication space (messaging and video calling). Research is paramount to our organization’s success - formative research helps teams identify the right latent needs or problems in the world to tackle with product solutions, iterative design research helps mold early product ideas into testable concepts, and evaluative research helps us improve our products.


Job Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, PMs & engineers to identify the right research questions to prioritize

- Collaboratively and independently develop and execute a research roadmap

- Drive execution of research studies across all phases including planning, data collection, analysis, reporting

- Communicate and share findings and implications to stakeholders


Skills:

- Demonstrable experience designing and conducting end to end user research studies including qualitative research design, data analysis and reporting (Note - mixed methods experience is a plus)

- Strong verbal and written communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

- Strong ability to work independently, manage one’s time, and make tradeoffs between priorities

- Experience with storytelling to drive traction across a variety of stakeholders

- Ease with ambiguity and new spaces

- Ability to translate research findings into actionable implications and recommendations


Education/Experience:

- MA/MS in HCI or social science field (psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, or economics)

- At least 5 years experience conducting user research, at least 3 of which are focused on consumer experiences (social or communication experiences is a plus)
