Job Description

JZMK is in search of an entry level Urban Designer to assist the Director of Urban Design and Planning and Senior Designers in all phases of master planning, site planning and master plan community development. Will be responsible for graphic production, analysis, diagraming, modelling, and research. Will also assist in the preparation of graphic presentations, written

reports, and documents related to planning studies. The Urban Designer will also assist in the coordination of projects with clients, jurisdictions, and consultants.


Qualifications

  • Responsible for graphic production, analysis, diagraming, modelling, and research
  • One year’s experience in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, or Landscape Architecture desired
  • Assists Urban Design and Planning Director, Senior Designers, and Intermediate Designers in preparation of master plans and site development plans
  • Assists in the coordination of projects with clients, jurisdictions, and consultants
  • Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation of graphic presentation
  • Organized and Motivated personality
  • Responsible for the design and management of planning projects on a limited basis
  • Responsible for the design of urban design and planning projects on a limited basis


Applicant Requirements

  • Strong software proficiency and skills in digital project development: specifically, AutoCAD
  • Graduate degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Planning desired
  • ArcGIS
  • Adobe Suite
  • MS Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Planning required
  • Rhino 3D (Grasshopper) and/or Sketchup with Enscape/Lumion


Salary Range

$60k - $75k
