Upper School Math (2023-2024)

Colorado Academy seeks candidates for a one-year Upper School Math teacher. This is a one-year appointment that begins in mid-August 2023 and ends in early June of 2024.

This one-year position will be composed of four sections of our foundational math courses, Math 2 and Math 3, which focus on algebraic reasoning with functions. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field and have experience teaching high school math courses.

Candidates should be eager to engage in developing mathematical habits and practices in their students. A strong candidate will be comfortable creating developmentally appropriate curricula, be willing to explore innovative approaches to teaching, have experience establishing a supportive and engaging classroom environment for students, be willing to differentiate to meet the needs of students, and value collaborative work with and feedback from colleagues, administrators, students, and parents/guardians.

Candidates should expect that they may be involved in our advisory program and other daily responsibilities of faculty members outside the classroom.

Candidates should be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued and where openness to growth is the norm. Additionally, candidates will be expected to share in the day-to-day life of the school community, which includes organizing and running a one-week Upper School Interim. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Demonstrated intercultural competence, which we define as the ability to understand and bridge diverse perspectives, identities, and lived experiences, is a must.

Candidates are expected to carry out the mission of CA, "Creating Curious, Kind, Courageous, and Adventurous Learners and Leaders," to support the vision of the Upper School and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom.

The pay range for the position is $60,000 - $80,000. This is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience.
