Job Summary


Performs organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Technician. Repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, landing gear, fuel systems and mechanical components. Working knowledge of UAS unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and other special tools and equipment. Uses and interprets technical orders (TO’s) and technical data to apply working knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective action. This position reports to the Site Manager or Program Manager.


Responsibilities and Duties


  • Performs aircraft launch and recovery and performs other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Removes and installs UAS components and conducts functional and operational tests.
  • Performs structural repair, inspects and identifies corrosion for prevention and repair.
  • Adjusts, aligns and rigs UAS flight controls and other components
  • Completes aircraft maintenance forms entries
  • Performs aircraft jacking, lifting, towing, and manual movement.
  • Performs end-of-runway, post- flight, pre-flight, thru-flight and phase inspections.
  • Responsible to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Services and inspects UAS aircraft, components and related aerospace equipment.
  • Operates and inspects powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.
  • Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation and operation.


Requirements And Skills


  • At least five (5) years of experience in commercial or military aircraft maintenance
  • US Citizen or proper immigration status
  • Unmanned Aircraft Systems highly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Manned or unmanned ISR platforms are desired but not a requirement
  • Ability to maintain a valid passport and travel overseas for extended periods of time
  • Valid Security Clearance may be required or ability to obtain one
  • Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) FAA license preferred
