Summary of Duties:
The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) is actively seeking qualified applicants for an Undergraduate Advisor position in our Student Services office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current students in the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences program on the WSU Health Sciences campus in Spokane.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Undergraduate Advisor position include but are not limited to
The Undergraduate Advisor plays a significant role in academic advisement for undergraduate students, admissions and recruitment into the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences program, and overall program coordination.
  • Support admissions by guiding interested undergraduate and transfer students through the admissions process and advising applicants of admission requirements.
  • Advise current students on course registration, schedule planning, scheduling of courses, tracking of graduation requirements, ensuring academic policies and procedures are enforced and followed, providing academic and student success support as a retention effort, maintaining student records, and providing career guidance and/or professional or graduate school admissions support.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures that establish best practices for recruitment and admissions into the program.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years academic advising or related experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional academic advising experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis. Positions who will lead or supervisor will require one or more years of full-time experience leading or directing the work of others.
Additional Requirements
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Accreditations: Continuous Level 2 certification through WSU ACADA or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to plan and implement programming.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, prospect software (CRM), and enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills/experience including preparing and presenting presentations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and leadership, including the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • Experience working with diverse faculty, students, and staff.
  • Experience working with and maintaining student records.
  • Working knowledge of student recruitment and college admissions.
  • Knowledge of admissions procedures, academic programs, financial aid and scholarships and a broad base of knowledge regarding Washington State University academic rules and regulations.
  • Experience working in education or with high school and/or college students.
  • Experience providing student services in a higher education institution.
  • Knowledge of curriculum management practices, processes, and policies.

Monthly Salary: $4,062.00-$6,092.00; commensurate with qualifications and experience.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
