UI/UX Front End Developer

The UI/UX Front End Developer will join the PSPD mission as a collaborative team member who will provide crucial insight on front-end development, user interface, and user experience.

This position calls for an individual with expertise in UI design, UX design, and front-end development who can understand human-computer interaction design (HCID) and leverage their creativity and hybrid coding background to improve our current applications.

The right candidate will possess strong creative, communication, collaborative, analysis, design, coding, and writing skills. Their duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

• Designing, implementing, testing, and documenting front end components (e.g., JavaScript, CSS, HTML).
• Observing user behavior to improve the visual design and flow of analytic applications.
• Collaborating with product owners, scrum masters, project managers, and other application engineers to gather, evaluate, and implement solutions that support user requirements/needs.
• Performing user research (i.e., target users/personas).

Experience required:

• Demonstrated front-end UI/UX experience.
• 5 + years experience in required skills.

• Ability to multi-task and simultaneously support both immediate graphics/design requests while progressing on long term projects.
• Expertise with UI coding languages (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, AJAX).
• Competency in standard professional graphic design applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced photo manipulation capabilities.
  • Adobe Illustrator and After Effects experience.
  • Ability to create/adjust vector graphics.
• Experience working with various eLearning and media design and development tools.
• Ability to create/adjust vector graphics.
• Understanding of U.S. Digital Service Playbook concepts and Draft U.S. Web Design Standards.
• Experience with user-oriented UX writing (e.g., marketing copy, microcopy).
• Experience with Agile iterative software development methodology, processes, and practices.
• Adobe Illustrator and After Effects experience.
• Intermediate to advanced photo manipulation capabilities.

Education:

• HS Diploma/GED and 20+ years
• MS/MA/MBA and 9+ years
• BS/BA and 12+ years
• AS/AA and 18+ years
• PhD/Doctorate and 7+ years

Clearance :

• Must pass CBP Background Investigation

The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100-$100,000. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
