Ui/Ux Designer Jobs

Ellumen, named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post for the third time, is a small business headquartered in Silver Spring, MD. We provide a broad spectrum of information technology and ancillary services to government and commercial customers primarily within the healthcare delivery domain. We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to improve the appearance and usability of products for our federal customer. Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ unique training needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.
• Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
• Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets
• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
• Work with wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision) and design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities to analyze and predict user behavior.
• Design graphic elements and navigation components
• Identify and troubleshoot UX problems and adjust.
• Develop UI prototypes to demonstrate functionality to internal team and stakeholders.
• Build page navigation buttons and search fields.

Qualifications

• Must be US citizen with ability to obtain federal clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer working with the government
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience with web/mobile applications
• Ability to quickly prototype solutions
• Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with design software and wireframe tools
