Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Load and safely secure sod with tarp straps
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Report defects, accidents or violations
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Unload each delivery safely and efficiently
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
Skills
  • Valid CDL A
  • No major violations on driving record
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
  • Cell phone required
  • Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver
  • Forklift and piggyback forklift experience preferred
  • Must know how to drive a manual
