Summary
This position is responsible for the operation of a tri-axle dump truck in a safe and efficient manner, both off-road and on public roadways.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned
- Complete logbooks, driver inspection reports, and other reports as required.
- Keep truck clean.
- Deliver stone and asphalt to homeowners & construction sites.
- Responsible for own personal safety at all times.
Education and/or Experience
- Tri-axle dump truck
- Five years construction experience preferred
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner
- Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours
- Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of DOT and CDL regulations
- Able to create and work effectively in a team environment
- Must possess a valid CDL Class A or B License with tanker endorsement, a clean MVR, and must pass a DOT physical
- Able to read maps
Language Skills
- Able to effectively communicate in verbal form to employees and customers
Reasoning Ability
- Able to interpret written and oral instructions, and to read, analyze and interpret, operating & maintenance instructions or regulations
Physical Demands

- Able to climb ladders and to work at heights of 8 feet
- Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus
- Able to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, or controls
- May require sitting for extended periods of time
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Able to move/carry objects up to 50 lbs
Work Environment
- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock or burn
- The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be loud, but is typically moderate
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
