Job Description

The Office of Travel Reduction Programs, branded as Capitol Rideshare, is seeking an Intern to assist with Travel Reduction Program activities. Ongoing projects include program-related research, stakeholder communications, and database maintenance. This will be primarily a remote work position with a computer provided by the Department of Administration.
Work schedule will be flexible to coincide with class schedule, if necessary. The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many agencies, boards, commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona, unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Job Duties:
  • Survey data visualization
  • Researching and compiling information for reports
  • Program Management
  • Communications and research projects
  • Implementing the annual travel reduction plan
  • Assisting with periodic reports and newsletter
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Government and Public Policy/Administration
  • Data Visualization

Skills in:

  • Writing
  • Google Suite, especially Google Sheets
  • Database Maintenance
  • Research

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively
  • Work independently
  • Analyze data
Selective Preference(s):
  • The ideal candidate should maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Education: Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited four-year College or University with a focus in Government, Public Admin/Policy, Urban Planning, Sustainability, Communications, or a related field.
  • Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
