Job Description
Descripción general:
Provides transportation services to Native patients according to established policies and procedures. Transports mail and goods between clinic sites, Tribal Administration, mailbox on the Reservation, post office, and other locations. Transports meals on wheels from casino to patient homes. Responsible for transportation-related reporting and the maintenance of government vehicles.
Responsabilidades:
  • Maintains all receipts related to expenses on GSA vehicles, and documents mileage, vehicle details, and card number where applicable.
  • Coordinates scheduled and necessary maintenance services for GSA vehicles (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations).
  • Collaborates with Community Service Team on scheduled transports, happenings, and any concerns.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all Native patients while demonstrating respect and care.
  • Provides Native patients with Transportation Bylaws to sign on an annual basis.
  • Completes transportation-related reporting in NextGen, for grants (i.e., senior and CHR program), and for GSA-vehicle purposes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Transports mail and goods between clinic sites, Tribal Administration, mailbox on the Reservation, the post office, and other locations.
  • Follows protocol to check out GSA vehicles and documents destinations and time frames.
  • Picks up bagged meals from the casino kitchen and provides meals on wheels services to designated Native Elders.
  • Transports Native patients to various locations according to established policies and procedures.
  • Adds fuel to GSA vehicles at designated locations; washes vehicles bi-monthly or as needed; vacuums vehicles as needed.
Calificaciones:
  • Ability to interpret driving directions via GPS or verbally.
  • Attention to detail on technical, procedural, and administrative tasks.
  • Native American preferred.
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted CA Driver License.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must obtain DMV clearance through the Chumash Enterprise’s Risk Management Department.
  • Willingness to receive continuing education training (some travel required).
  • Experience with NextGen is preferred (EHR system).
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information clearly and accurately to patients and staff in person and over the phone.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including EHR systems, Microsoft Office applications such as Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to safely operate a vehicle.
  • Must understand cultural and social factors that influence health and compliance with appointments.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with culturally diverse communities, including the ability to relate to and understand the special and specific needs of Native Americans.
