Job Description

This is an exempt position for purposes of Fair Labor Standards Act. Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.

POSITION REPORTS TO: Executive Director

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: To manage, coordinate, and/or facilitate all transportation activities for bus and volunteer drivers including but not limited to record-keeping, MDOT requirements, bus maintenance. Provide necessary support for the scheduler / dispatcher to independently work with drivers to insure an efficient system including consideration of process and procedure suggestions.

MAJOR JOB SEGMENTS:

  • To facilitate the efforts of the scheduler / dispatcher in performing transportation services including bus and volunteer drivers.
  • To recruit, train, and supervise bus and volunteer drivers.
  • To facilitate accurate transportation schedule, dispatch system and documentation.
  • To prepare mileage and monthly billings for all passengers and contracted service.
  • Prepare yearly Michigan Department of Transportation application for specialized services and vehicle replacements as well as office equipment and radios as needed and manage all aspects of reporting and relationship management.
  • Schedule training and mandated alcohol and drug testing for all bus drivers.
  • Schedule and oversee quarterly Transportation Advisory meetings.
  • To assist the efforts of the scheduler / dispatcher for scheduling of all vehicle maintenance and preparation of accurate records on all OCCOA vehicles.
  • Prepare monthly financial statistical and service reports for Board of Directors.
  • Prepare yearly service plan and budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

JOB QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Supervisory and managerial experience.
  • Strong communication skills and computer skills.
  • Good program, organizational and community relation skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and pertinent records.
  • Valid CDL license with a P endorsement.
  • Computer skills appropriate for the position including but not limited to scheduling software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
