The role


Transportation Analyst


The Transportation Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of transportation-related critical business operations, and carrier tender. Additionally, this position will identify inefficiencies and achieve continuous improvement through recommendations for transportation processes and systems. The position will also serve as a subject matter expert in both transportation operations and the Transportation Management System, TMS while supporting strategic projects, analyzing performance metrics, and acting as a liaison between Avanos customer service, operations planning, distribution, and transportation.


Your Qualifications


Job Position Accountabilities / Expectations


  • Identify and recommend initiatives related to cost savings, process improvement, or transportation efficiencies within the global transportation network.
  • Collaborate with Avanos supply chain & operations, planning, and project leaders to meet the business expectation of shipment planning/creation.
  • Provide real-time visibility to the international ocean and air imports. Resolve daily exceptions and service and capacity interruptions.
  • Utilize carrier information, SAP data, and reporting tools to generate, monitor, analyze, and report on key services and cost metrics for import/export transportation operations.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of SOPs, manuals, or other documentation related to transportation.
  • Daily operational global support for shipment planning and execution of inbound and outbound, US domestic and international movements to include operational carrier management, carrier tender, order/shipment optimization, and troubleshooting via TMS.


Qualifications / Education / Experience / Skills Required


  • Advanced level in Excel and/or database software.
  • Advanced data analytical skills
  • Microsoft tools e.g., PowerPoint
  • This position requires knowledge and skills associated with a bachelor’s degree and 0-5 years of experience in global and/or US domestic transportation.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience using an ERP system/Transportation Management tool.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Bilingual, English & Spanish
