Summary


The Safety & Training Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing training programs that improve employee productivity and effectiveness for the Nation. The role of the L&D Specialist includes conducting needs assessments, designing training programs, developing instructional and promotional materials, delivering training sessions and orientation and evaluating the results of training programs. The L&D Specialist will also collaborate with HR team members, marketing/media, IT and training partners to ensure well rounded delivery of in person and e-learning instruction to maximize learning opportunities for the Nation's employees.


To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all minimum requirements by the closing date of this announcement.


Minimum Requirements


Driving: Must have a valid Kansas driver's license and be insurable with the Nation's insurance.


Experience: Two to five years of training program design and delivery, project management, budgeting, communication, and proficiency in software tools such as MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS) with three years of direct Human Resources experience.


Education: High school Diploma or GED and four years of direct HR experience; or AA degree in Management, or HR; or Specialized course of study in HR, Marketing, or Training yielding a certification.


Must be willing to obtain Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) certification within 1 year.


Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position. Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions.
