The primary purpose of this position is primarily involved in the administration of training programs. This includes responsibility for the sustainment of operating education and training programs that provide for the educational development or advancement of the individuals enrolled. Responsibilities


  • Provides management advisory and consultant services on a wide range of training matters.
  • Knowledge of specialized subject matter directly related to assigned specialty area or organization. Normally acquired by on-the-job training combined with study and practice.
  • Administers the overall training program for the Complex.
  • Ability to apply lean, safety, security, and health principles, practices, and procedures and to understand and apply internal management procedures. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: Work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform this work. Work Environment: The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require nonnal safety precautions typical ofsuch places ns offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or commercial vehicles. The work area is adequately lit, heated. and ventiloled. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Education Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. or Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.
