Job Description
THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation Engineering District 6-0 is seeking to fill a Traffic Control Specialist position within the District's Traffic Unit. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Traffic Control Specialist performs as a direct assistant to the Traffic Studies Supervisor. This position emphasizes the performance and review of traffic studies including those for speed limits, multi-way stops, tum restrictions, truck restrictions, and establishment of one -way/two- way streets, passing zone and truck climbing lane studies, intersection and stopping sight distance and hazardous walking routes, mid-block crosswalk studies, and other operational safety investigations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days in a 2-week pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia, PA.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or
  • One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Two years as a Traffic Control Technician; or
Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
